This position primarily exists to support the work of the Elizade University Systems Administrator in a variety of computer-related technical, administrative and clerical duties which are necessary to ensuring the efficient delivery of computer system repair services by Elizade University’s ICT Workshop in accordance with Elizade University’s vision, mission and purpose. To succeed, the incumbent must have a good knowledge of component level repairs and be able to use this knowledge for any systems related tasks. The incumbent must also have significantly high communication and writing skills in order to be able to communicate effectively with staff and students.

Detailed Listing of Responsibilities

  • Carry out hardware repairs and component level technical duties on systems.
  • Assist the System Administrator in day to day operations as required.
  • Assist the Systems Engineer in the repair processes for computer systems.
  • Carry out motherboard repairs where applicable.
  • Assist the Systems Administrator in attending to both Staff and Students with respect to Systems related issues.
  • Assist the Systems Administrator in implementing routine maintenance procedures as approved by the Head of ICT.
  • Assist the Systems Administrator in software (re) installations and the applications of updates and patches as required.
  • Maintain the ICT Workshop in a neat, orderly and professional manner
  • Perform any other duty as assigned by the System Administrator or the Head of ICT

Qualifications

  • At least a National Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics (Electronics) or a related discipline.
  • At least two years’ experience repairing computer systems

Remuneration

The remuneration and conditions of service are as applicable in Nigerian Federal Universities
