Environmental Hydrology & Water Engineering Expert
Prof. Philip Oguntunde obtained a Ph.D in Environmental Hydrology and Water Engineering from the University of Bonn, Germany, in 2004 and joined the Delft University of Technology between November 2004 and December 2005 as a post-doctoral scientist.
Dr. Oguntunde’s training at leading Universities in Nigeria, Germany, Holland, Finland, Luxemburg, Italy, USA, South Africa and Ghana has opened to him a new horizon of research orientation with a view to solving development and environmental problems in an inter-disciplinary approach.
Dr. Oguntunde has authored or co-authored over 120 scientific articles and technical papers including articles published in very learned international journals of high impact factors. He has supervised and graduated many undergraduates and Postgraduate students including over 20 Masters candidates and 15 PhDs.
He was appointed the first Associate Director in charge of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO) and developed the Intellectual Properties (IP) Policy for FUTA. He was Acting Director of Center for Research and Development in 2014 among many administrative positions.
He has won many prizes, awards and grants including Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship in Germany (2010-2013), Leibnitz Fellowship (Germany), BIARI Fellow (USA); Fellow of the Galilee Institute (Israel) among others.
He has h-index of 30 and 4113 citations in Google Scholar. He has contributed immensely to the development of teaching and learning including management of higher Education in Nigeria and research capacity building across West Africa.
He has served as consultant to many private and public organisations including the World Bank. He is a fellow of African Academy of Sciences (FAAS) and currently the Pioneer Director of Centre for Environment, Food systems, and Energy Studies (CEFES), Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Nigeria.
