Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, has once again affirmed its rising profile as a world-class institution, as its final year Architecture students recorded a resounding 100 per cent success in the professional jury exercise conducted by the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON).

 

The milestone was achieved during the B.Sc. (Architecture) Final Year Project Jury held from August 19 to 21, 2025, in strict compliance with the Architects (Registration, etc.) Act, CAP A19, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004. The exercise forms part of ARCON’s statutory mandate to regulate architectural education and ensure that minimum academic and professional standards are upheld nationwide.

 

All the final year students presented by the Department of Architecture, scored a flawless 100 per cent pass rate. No student fell below the pass mark, and none was absent.

 

In its official report, ARCON commended the Department for the effective conduct of the jury and the overall performance of the students, describing the prevailing studio culture as “worthy of encouragement.” The Panel particularly noted the Department’s success in bridging performance gaps in critical areas such as lettering, graphic communication, presentation drawings, and working drawings which are core competencies for professional architectural practice.

 

The Council expressed confidence that sustained attention to its observations and recommendations would further elevate the quality, depth and professional readiness of graduates from the programme, in alignment with its mandate to safeguard standards and protect public interest.

The commendation was conveyed in a letter signed by the Registrar of ARCON, Arc. Mohammed Itopa Sule, FNIA, MAARCHES.

 

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of Elizade University, Professor Philip Gbenro Oguntunde, described the 100 per cent success rate as “a defining moment” for the institution and a validation of its commitment to academic excellence.

 

“This achievement is not accidental. Professor Oguntunde commended the Department of Architecture for its dedication and charged the students to uphold the University’s core values as they advance in their professional journey.

 

The Registrar of the University, Mr. Omololu Adegbenro, also lauded the students and faculty for making the institution proud.

 

“This 100 per cent success in a regulatory jury supervised by ARCON underscores the integrity of our academic processes and our strict adherence to national and global best practices,” he stated. “It reinforces Elizade University’s reputation as a university to be reckoned with.”

 

Adegbenro assured stakeholders that the University would continue to align its programmes with regulatory benchmarks while fostering innovation, creativity and ethical standards among its students.
