Welcome to the webpage of the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences, Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Nigeria.
The Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences is one of the two foundation Faculties with which the University started full operation in 2013.
The Faculty started with six programmes (Biology, Microbiology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, and Chemistry) across three Departments (Biological Sciences, Physical and Chemical Sciences, and Mathematics & Computer Sciences). The Faculty created additional six programmes across the three Departments namely: Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Applied Geophysics, Physics with Electronics, Cyber Security, and Environmental Management & Toxicology.
In 2020/2021 academic session, the Faculty secured the National University Commission’s (NUC) approval to commence postgraduate studies (PGD, M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D).
The Faculty remains a primary stakeholder that supports quality delivery of services in the three cardinal scientific spheres (viz; teaching, research and community development) in the life of a citadel of learning. It has an encompassingly rich discernment of mobilizing students with adequate tools for scientific skillfulness and cognitive content.
At the undergraduate and graduate levels, the faculty subjects students to the fundamentals of scientific processes and values in Pure and Applied sciences in a serene and well cultured environment that groom them for life endeavour. All these make its alumni proud of the faculty.
The faculty carries out periodical reviews of its departmental curricula in line with the NUC guidelines, which is in response to the global needs to be in harmony with the 21st Century requirements. Without mincing words, we are proud to humbly resolve that the faculty is one of the best of its kind in the country. The Faculty has produced sets of graduates across the different programmes, who are now captains in their different fields thereby contributing to national and international developments.

The Faculty of Basic and Applied Science was one of the founding faculties since the establishment of Elizade University. The Faculty was established to provide requisite skills and manpower through teaching and research in the area of basic and applied sciences; as well as service other science based faculties and programmes within the University such as Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. Faculty of Basic and Applied Science is made up of eight (8) programmes namely:
All the programmes are fully accredited by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC). Since inception, the programmes have continuously attracted students both within Nigeria and outside the country. The Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences have recruited academic staffs who are distinguished scholars in the chosen areas of expertise; this was deliberately done so as to give our students the needed knowledge that are sorted after internationally. Capacity building of ours staffs through training, workshops, seminars, and conferences is one of our priorities. Besides teaching and research, specific programmes in the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences are saddled with the responsibility to oversee specific units in the University such as Botanical Garden.

Though the Faculty and the University is still young, we have good track record of our graduate competing favourably than most of their counterparts from other private and public Universities both home and abroad. Our graduate employability cannot but be overemphasized, as we already have some of our graduates working in both private and public sectors; we also have some of our First class graduates employed by the University.
