Elizade University Celebrates Book Launch of “Lessons From My University Life” by Nursing Student

Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, witnessed a memorable celebration of creativity and scholarship with the formal launch of Lessons From My University Life, a book authored by Miss Akinmoladun Oluwatofunmi, a 500-level student of Nursing Science in the university’s Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.
The well-attended event was marked by tributes to the author’s talent, discipline, and the university’s nurturing academic environment. The Founder of Elizade University, Chief Michael Ade. Ojo, was represented at the occasion by the Registrar, Mr. Omololu Adegbenro. In his remarks, Chief Ade. Ojo described Miss Akinmoladun as “a rare gem and a testament to the goal of the university to produce world-class, innovative graduates.”
Encouraging other students to emulate her example of creativity and innovation, Chief Ade. Ojo donated ₦250,000 to support the book launch. The Registrar, Mr. Adegbenro, also personally announced an additional ₦100,000 donation to the author, commending her courage and industry.
The Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babatunde Adeyemo, who was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Professor Omotola Dada, praised the university’s commitment to grooming students for global competitiveness. “Our students are being practically groomed, mentored and tailored to compete favourably anywhere in the world,” Professor Dada affirmed.
Also speaking at the event, the Head of Department, Nursing Science, Dr. Alice Ogundele, described Miss Akinmoladun as “a powerful symbol of dedication and commitment,” noting that her achievement reflected the high standards of discipline and scholarship instilled in students of the department.
The book reviewer, Professor Olugbenga Oke Samuel of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, lauded the work as “more than a memoir”, describing it as “a guide, a companion, and a mirror of reality that reminds us ideas truly rule the world.” He called on the audience to see the book as a significant contribution to personal and academic development.
In her heartfelt remarks, the author, Miss Oluwatofunmi Akinmoladun, expressed gratitude to God and everyone who supported her journey. She described the book as “a pointer to the power of God in the affairs of man, and a guide on how to make the best of life, even in challenging times.”
The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Anthony Omolola, Chairman of the Idanre Development Assembly, also praised the young author as “a product of the good leadership being demonstrated by Elizade University,” while urging other students to follow in her footsteps.
In an emotional vote of thanks, the author’s father, Honourable Mayokun Akinmoladun, expressed deep appreciation to Chief Michael Ade. Ojo and his wife for their continuous support of students’ development, as well as to all guests who graced and contributed to the occasion.
The launch of Lessons From My University Life stands as another milestone in Elizade University’s quest to foster innovation, leadership, and excellence among its students.
