Specifications


(A)  Professor
      Candidates should be holders of Ph.D. degree from recognized Universities with at least twelve (12) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership and must also be specialists in core areas of departmental fields of study. Registration with relevant professional bodies is mandatory.
(B)  Reader
       Requirements are same as (A) above but with at least nine (9) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Registration with relevant professional bodies is mandatory.
(C)  Senior Lecturer
       Requirements are same as (A) above but with at least six (6) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Registration with relevant professional bodies is mandatory.
(D)  Lecturer I
       Requirements are same as (A) above but with at least four (4) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Registration with relevant professional bodies is mandatory.
 

Non-Teaching


A.  Registry
     Principal Assistant Registrar

     A good Honours Degree in Humanities/Social Sciences/Law with at least Second Class (Lower Division) from a recognized University and at least twelve (12) years cognate experience in a university or an institution of comparable status. Membership of Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) and computer literacy are compulsory.
 

B.  Legal Unit
      Senior Legal Officer (EUNASS 9)

      A good Bachelor of Law Degree (LL. B) with at least Second Class (Lower Division) from a recognized University and Barrister at Law (B.L) and a minimum of three (3) years cognate experience in a university or an institution of comparable status.
 

C.  Physical Planning, Works and Services (PPWS) Unit
1.  Director (EUNASS 15)

     A good Honours Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) from a recognized University and at least 15 years post qualification cognate experience in a university or an institution of comparable status, five of which must have been at a senior Management position. Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory. Previous experience as Deputy Director of Works and Maintenance Services is required.
2.  Deputy Director (EUNASS 14)
     Requirements are same as (1) above but with at least 14 years post qualification cognate experience in a university or an institution of comparable status. Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory. Previous experience as Chief Engineer in Works and Maintenance Services Unit is required.
3.  Principal Engineer (EUNASS 11)
     Requirements are same as (1) above but with at least nine (9) years post qualification cognate experience in a university or an institution of comparable status. Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory. Previous experience as Senior Engineer in Works and Maintenance Services Unit is required.
4.  Senior Engineer (EUNASS 9)
     Requirements are same as (1) above but with at least six (6) years post qualification cognate experience in a university or an institution of comparable status. Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory. Previous experience as Engineer I in Works and Maintenance Services Unit is required.

D.  University Medical Centre
1.  Sanitary and Environmental Health Officer II (EUHESS 7)

     A good Honours Degree in Environmental Health from a recognized Institution with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division. In addition to the above requirements, candidates must be registered with the Environmental Health Officers' Registration Council of Nigeria (EHORECON).
2.  Community Health Extension Worker (EUHESS 5)
     SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L Certificate with five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics and a Certificate from School of Health Technology or its equivalent plus three (3) years post qualification experience.
